 Thank you for autoshutdown, but it did not perform well with Vista. Ultimately I found a small program call shutdown.exe (a windows item) it worked well functioned within batch files, and I was able to use it within task scheduler.  I could not get it to work. Then I see it is for dialup only? The first info I read only stated modem, implying DSL, cable or dialup. Not what I wanted after all.
 Unable to use I'm using Windows XP pro 64 bit. With the absence of modem drivers I am using a usb modem configured as com 3. When trying to run the monitor it could not recognise the port when connected. If selected first the port could not be accessed.

Its not what I expected as usual. It didn't work on my computer. It just give me some details onon a small green window on certain details I already know. It was nothing like a saw as a picture fron the internet.I saw no graphs or internet measuring of any kind. Just like a diolog box woth writing in it. Dave
